This weekend was incredibly overwhelming, but in a really good way. I can't count the number if ideas running through my head right now! I attended a scrapbooking show in Framingham, MA for store owners with my Mother-in-Law, Denise. The weekend (Friday-Sunday) was filled with classes and events about scrapbooking for retailers. My husband's family owns the office supply store, The Front Desk, in Newport, Vermont and they have a (new & improved!) scrapbooking section in their store (this section was in no way my idea reguardless of any email I may have sent to said store owners.) We were at the show all weekend getting some great ideas for classes and products and came back with some wonderful ideas and inspiration! The show was informative, creative, productive, and a bunch of other "ive" words all at once! (Denise would like to add the word 'expensive' to the list... we bought over $1,000 in new scrapbooking product for the store, due to arrive in April!) I can't tell you all how excited I am to make some samples, get some kits together, and head back up to the good 'ol Northeast Kingdom to teach some classes using all these great products! To hold me over until I get to do that, I have combined two things I am passionate about and created this (digital) page using our team photo for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. (Please visit my other blog at http://walking40foracure.blogspot.com to learn more about my family's committment to fight Breast Cancer.)
Now, you may be wondering: Hey Sam, what is the purpose of this blog anyway? I mean, your writing is magnificent but what is the actual purpose of all this?
Well, if you ask I will answer a little something like this:
Why, thank you for asking. Being the modest person I am, the blog is really about scrapbooking and less about my magnificent writing. It will showcase different projects every week including (but certainly not limited to) layouts, cards, mini scrapbooks, home decor projects, and tips and techniques to try yourself! It will also have examples from guest designers (my very talented family!) All the projects you see will be available to buy at the Front Desk in a kit or as individual items. Many of the projects are completely customizable to your own taste, so look around the store and have fun matching papers to your personality!
Denise (my Mother-in-Law), Amanda (my Sister-in-Law) and Erin (my younger sister) will all be submitting examples of their work to help spark some creativity in your own very creative minds! It will be easy for you to put your own little spin on the projects and make them your own! We all have VERY different styles so there will definitely be something for everyone!
