Last weekend Jason and I took advantage of the amazing (and uncharacteristic) Minnesota fall weather and went for a walk around the creek near our apartment. The walking path is about 3 miles long and allows us to start at our apartment and brings us in a big circle. Below are a few photos we took on our walk, which was just before sunset.

There was a triangular patch of grass along the path and I told Jason that it looks like there should be a statue there, so he pretended to be a statue for me. :-)

We found this carving on a tree along the path and it made us think of
Kristen (who's initials, once she gets married this weekend, will be KGZ). After some research we found that 'GZ' in this context likely means 'Ground Zero,' but I'm just going to go ahead and think it has something to do with K.

Pretty sunset on the Prairie.

I love this tree. I think I would think it was creepy in the dark, but in the sunset it's just pretty.

I rescued a
woolly bear caterpillar from getting stepped on as he was crossing the path. He was cute and had fun crawling around my hand for a few minutes. He says that the winter is going to be a bad one (indicated by the relatively thin stripe of brown.) Oh well.

This photo doesn't do the sunset justice. The colors were so bright and beautiful.

I love the "statue" pose, Jason! It looks the the pose is mid-frolick :D
Ahh! I LOVE that picture of the tree with the initials. I want it framed!
