Anagrams

Ever wasted time online? Of course you have. I was recently playing around with an Anagram Generator to see what my name spells when the letters are rearranged. Turns out "Samantha Piette" doesn't spell anything (insert frowny face.) My search returned no results. "Sam Piette" however generated 749 results. Here are a few of my favorites:

Tape Mites
Peas Met It
A Mite Pest
Paste Item <---- Does this one mean I was destined to be a scrapbooker? Hmmmm....

What does your name spell? Post in the comments the most interesting Anagram of your name. Or, let me know that, like my full name, maybe your combination of letters is completely unique and you don't have any anagrams! :-)

Cards for Heroes Blog Hop!

Hippity hippity hop-hop! :-) (That's the sound of you a-hopping around all the great blogs today!)

Welcome hoppers!

If you are new reader... WELCOME! Sit down, stay a while, when you've had enough, hop on (there is a CRAZY amount of talent in this blog hop... soak it up!)
If you are an old reader (not old like,
old, just old like, seasoned to know what in the world I may be talking about here... maybe... then feel free to join in the hop! It's fun! Hop-hop-hop around!)

So, are you ready to see my cards? Sure you are. That's IS what you came here for after all. :-) I made two... one with a "Red White & Blue" color scheme and another that I just like.

I am excited to be involved in this hop because I 1.) have never done a Blog Hop before and B.) Have never contributed to Cards for Heroes before. This is all very new for me and I am thrilled to be a part of it! It was a lot of fun to work on these projects KNOWING that instead of sitting in a box in my craft room they are going to be USED for something very special. I encourage you all to make a card (or 10!) to forward on to Cards for Heroes... you will love knowing that your card will be VERY appreciated... perhaps more than you think. :-)

Ok hoppers... are you ready for the next blog to hop off to? Let me just say, I enjoyed having you hop to my blog. Have fun hopping around today... I hope you find a lot of inspiration for your own cards and that you have a Happy Memorial Day!

The next stop on the hop is Rebecca. She's got some really cute cards up so be sure to look around a bit! :-)

CLICK HERE FOR THE NEXT STOP ON THE HOP!

NOTE: If you have come here by accident (a happy accident, I hope!) you may want to click HERE to go back to the start of the blog hop; the "top of the hop" if you will. :-)

*** This blog hop was organized by Cards for Heroes; a non-profit organization that has sent over 140,000 cards overseas to servicemen and women. Two types of cards are sent; blank cards which they can write home on, and cards with words of encouragement and gratitude inside. If you are interested in donating cards to this cause go to their main site (http://cardsforheroes.org) for more information. ***

Real men wear pink

He did it! Jason conquered all 39.3 miles! He is currently taking a
much needed nap. He has his fair share of blisters but other than that
he's doing well! :-) Go Jason!

Erin Visits

When my sister visits during the week I often stay up MUCH later than I should. We are both "night people" by nature, but when I have to get up and work the next morning I am not as much of a night owl as she is. Erin is visiting right now and the last two nights she has been here have been no exception to the "Sam doesn't sleep much when Erin is here" rule. :-) Here is a run-down:

Wednesday -
I got home around 7:00pm
Went out to dinner
Home at 8:30
Drinks
Jason goes to bed
Watching iCarly
Talking
Telling Erin that I really need to get to bed
Talking some more
Watching the Sox game
Complaining that the Sox are losing so bad
Reiterating that I really have to go to sleep
Talking some more
Cutting out fabric for a project
Talking about plans for tomorrow
Realizing that it's 1:00am and that it's already tomorrow
Miscellaneous giggling
Bedtime at 1:30am

Thursday -
Home at 8:00pm
Dinner (I brought home Thai)
Drinks
Saying that we are going to watch Grey's
Watch America's Funniest Videos
Laugh
Laugh
Laugh laugh laugh and cry because we laugh so hard
Erin wondering why other people's pain is so funny when it's on TV
Laugh some more
Saying we are going to watch Grey's
Watch the Suite Life of Zack and Cody
Wondering why we are not watching Grey's
Ben & Jerry's ice cream
Sharing new apps on our iPhones
Looking at I Can Haz Cheezburger for about an hour
Laughing A LOT
"My eyes are burning! I have to stop laughing!"
Laughing some more
Bed at 12:30am

{Erin laughing REALLY hard so that she could hardly breath while watching America's Funniest Videos... Bruno looking unimpressed.}

So, as you can see, I have A LOT of fun when Erin visits, but I don't get to sleep much. :-) I'm sure tonight will be no exception.

Hero Cards

I recently created three cards for a class Denise is going to teach at The Front Desk. I used one stamp to create all three, showing just how versatile one little stamp can be. It's a Hero Arts stamp called Scallop Hello Friend and it looks like this:

Here are the cards:
(The cute little girl in the third one is Tori who is our cousin and our flower girl at our wedding. Isn't she CUTE?)

Cupcakes Galore!

I bought one of these last night at AC Moore.
I'm going to try out this recipe for Vanila Cupcakes.
My sister's 21st Birthday is coming up so this will be put to good use! :-)
I want to make these soon as well. How CUTE is that!?!?!? All I need is some clay...

Mother's Day Cards

I know it's past Mother's Day, but if I posted these cards before Sunday that would spoil the fun when they got them. :-) Below are the two cards I made for my two Mum's. I LOVE how they turned out. I created a pocket to put the greeting in (as you can see in the second photo) and included an extra piece of paper in the envelopes to make sure the front didn't get bent in the mail. (On this piece of paper I wrote that the card doesn't open and to just pull on the circle part. Like my sister told me, "nothing like a card that needs instructions! Hee hee!)

Happy Mother's Day! <3

I have seen a bunch of posts about CFH (Cards for Heroes) in the past but haven't participated... yet! http://cardsforheroes.org/homefront-blog/2009/5/6/cfh-blog-hop-memorial-day-weekend.html

Thank you!

PS: Just for fun - a twitter post from a military wife who received cards her hubby sent:
"Cards from Hubs in Iraq meant the WORLD to us at home. Thx to all who gave so he could send!"

Also, CFH is always looking for blank cards. If you want to make some cards and put them to REALLY good use, this is the place. :-)

Some cool things...

I just wanted to share with you some things that I find cool. They are not necessarily scrapbooking related, but are crafty in some way. Even if you are not crafty, (what? there are people in the world who don't enjoy making things? *gasp*) I hope you enjoy anyway. :-)

-----------------------------------------------------

Sugar cookies found via the Blah Blah Blahg. {Recipe here.}
I want to make (and eat) them so badly! Aren't they amazing looking????

Unplug for a day.
I am going to do this. Hopefully this weekend. One day with no internet, computer, cell phone, connection at all. I will be posting my experience on June 1st. :-) {Found on Stacey's Blog}It's Cupcake Week at LollyChops and La Fugi Mama's Blogs! It's like they read my mind. HOW did they know I would absolutely LOVE a week of cupcake crafts + baking? Check out a recipe (and free recipe card download!) for Black Bottom Cupcakes here as well as many CUTE embroidery patterns here. (Note to self: learn how to embroider... and then learn how to bake.) ;-)

I have been collecting P's lately in order to mimic this awesome decor found on Liz's Blog. I love it. I wish I had a cooler last initial but alas, I am stuck with P. I will embrace it. :-) So far I have 5 P's. I will be covering them with patterned paper and hanging them amongst some black and white photos. (I just love new projects just sitting there waiting for me to start playing with!)

Thanks to (the awesomely inspiring) Jennifer McGuire for tweeting this project. I need (not want... NEED) to get some canvas and make something like Nichol's awesome project. Need. I absolutely love it.

I think mine will say "Happiness is in the little things," or something like that.

Ok, so I'm sorry for the complete LACK of original content lately. I have one more deadline this week and then my life should be slowing down a bit after that (the key word there is SHOULD!) I have lots of photos to post as well as some cards I have made. (3 of them are for an upcoming class at The Front Desk and two are Mother's Day cards. The Mother's cards came out super nice and I can't wait to share! PS - Mom and damamma, be checking your mail this week! Hee hee!)

National Scrapbooking Day 2009!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Check out the events for the weekend here. :-)

Also, put your layout on the cover of CK magazine and be entered to win a NSD prize! Here is my entry:

(This is likely the closest I will ever get to seeing one of my layouts in a magazine... I am ok with that though. :-)
