Easter Font & Cards

ScrapNfonts.com has been a favorite site of mine for a while. I especially love their DoodleBat Fonts for scrapbooking.

Until Tuesday, you can get this great Easter Egg Doodle Font for free... just register for free with scrapNfonts.com and download away!

To make the graphic above I just typed out some of the letters into Photoshop, rasterized the type (i.e. turned it into a graphic instead of text) and colored it in cute Spring colors! Easy to the peasy people.

They are also giving away (for free! hehe!) a set of 4 great Easter Cards for you to download, print, and trim! They are CUTE and are just begging to be used! Anyone have any last minute Easter cards they want to send? Yeah, these would be perfect.

Free Printable Cards

It's Tuesday again and Tuesday = Free here on ye little ol' blog. This week I have a set of two printable cards for you to download and enjoy. :-) I also have a mini-tutorial about how to cut them for all of you out there who are not paper crafters.

First, here are the cards I designed for you! (Cute, eh?)

Credits: Papers by Miss Kim Designs, Scalloped edging by deliciousscraps.com

To use them, first download the PDF from 4shared and open it up. Print on a sheet of 8.5x11 white cardstock in color. Grab your paper trimmer (or a pair of scissors if you are confident in your 'straight-cutting-with-scissors-skills'... I am not, which is one of the many reasons I have a trimmer.)

Cut off the three edges of the page so it looks like this:

Once your edges are cut, now watch your cat as she comes over and eats/plays with those strips of paper. Take a few photos because she's a hilariously odd little kitty.

Ok, sorry, back to the project. :-P Now, measure the width of the card and trim down the final edge and down the middle.

These cards actually turned out to be a weird size (something slightly smaller than 3.75" x 5", which is what I was going for before my PDF printer went a little wacky and scaled down the page.) Anyway, cut the edge so that when you fold it on the edge of the card, it lines up. :-)

Now, you have two cards to send off to people you love! You can dress them up a little bit like I did here for something extra special or just leave them as they are.

I just added a flower + brad and some bling to this one and inked the edges.

I just added a die cut heart and button + string to this one and also inked the edges.

I will be sending these and many others to the Cards for Cancer drive! For more info, check out my previous posts here.

Enjoy! :-D

Walk with us!

How great is this idea? Cindy, Alexa, and Ann are organizing a bunch of different walks around the Minneapolis-St. Paul area this summer. They are inviting anyone in the area who would like to join them to tune in to their blogs for details and then just show up!

They will be walking every other Sunday this summer and I am SO in! This sounds like so much fun! I, unfortunately, will not be able to attend the first walk (because I will be in Boston with my bestest) but, I will definitely be there for the rest if I can!

For those of you in the area, here is the schedule:

May 2: Como Lake, St. Paul 1.5 Miles
May 16: Centennial Lakes Park, Edina 1.43 Miles
June 6: Lake of the Isles, Minneapolis 2.5 Miles
June 20: Shops at Arbor Lakes Man Made Lake, Maple Grove 2.0 Miles
July 11: Lake Calhoun, Minneapolis 3.1 Miles
July 18: Lake Nokomis, Minneapolis, 3.5 Miles
Aug 1: Como Lake X2, St. Paul, 3.0 Miles
Aug 15: Lake Harriet, Minneapolis 2.8 Miles
Aug 29: Lake Calhoun, Minneapolis 3.1 Miles

Also, those are some beautiful walking paths that we will be on! I've heard the MSP area is beautiful during the summer... I can't wait to experience it!

Who wants to walk with me and the ladies behind this? Com'on... I know you wanna!

Happy (Photobooth) Friday!

I have to tell you, I love photobooths. You knew that already. But, the absolute amazingness that is a photobooth combined with my best friends? Smooshing (yes, that's a word, and that's exactly what you have to do to fit 4 people into a photobooth!) together two of my absolute favorite things is just perfect. Also, we get a strip of photos to remember the awesome time we had. Love it.

[Photo 1: "Smile!" Photo 2: "Ok, funny faces!" Photo 3: Now, smoosh together!" Photo 4: "Pretend we are laughing hysterically!"]

We did a couple photobooth shoots while we were in Disney World and they were so much fun (as was the rest of the trip!) This one was from Animal Kingdom the first day we were there. We were celebrating Dane's birthday by eating at his favorite restaurant. :)

Dane: In photo4, is that really what you look like when you laugh? Hehe!

Jason: In photo 2, are you trying to eat Kristen's hair? That's odd. :-)

Cuddly

{The view from my computer.}

This afternoon I leaned forward on the couch to type something on my laptop which was at my feet. My cat climbed up my back and sat on my shoulder and purred in my ear. She was very content to just sit there and purr. So cute.

Cards for Cancer

My blogger friend Darcie over at Gust Gab is hosting an awesome card drive along with Spirit Jump (an organization I have been a member of since June.) I read what she was doing and knew I had to join her team! She has a good way of thinking about charity and tries really hard to do little things that make a big difference. I am definitely right there with her there.

Below are a few cards I have made for the drive. I have a total of 22 cards to give so far (many duplicates, but that's ok!)

I made two of these. They were super easy and I loved making them. Just a Martha Stewart butterfly punch (one of my favorites!) and some Hero Arts stamps.

The next two were even easier. I visited my local Michaels and found an 8-pack of each of these blank cards (50 cents for 8 cards!) I printed "hugs to you" on white cardstock and cut them out in strips and then adhered them to the front of the cards. I then added some Stickles and flowers and Voila! 16 cards created!

Our team's cards will be delivered to the Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital. You can find more information about this card drive, and how to get involved in your area on the Cards for Cancer blog. I also wrote an article about the drive on Examiner which can be found here.

Gratitude

The ladies over at the ivy twines are challenging their readers to create a Gratitude Journal to record the things they are grateful for. I think this is a great idea and jumped right on board! I was even inspired to create a scrapbook page in tribute to this challenge!

Journaling:
10 things I grateful for today...
1. The bright sunshine
2. Pajama Pants
3. Purring kitties
4. Creativity
5. Staying in touch with friends
6. My new laptop
7. Erin visiting in 10 days
8. Clean laundry
9. Photos
10. An excellent book

Feel free to join me in this challenge, or simply leave a comment here letting me know what you are grateful for today. I would love to hear from you!

Much Fun was had in Disney World!!!

These are just a hand full of photos from our vacation. We had SO MUCH FUN! It was wonderful to spend our vacation with our friends and we would do it all over again in a minute (but, maybe the second time around I would wear more comfortable shoes!) Here are the highlights of our trip:

- Kristen spotting me while getting off the shuttle bus at the hotel and squealing and hugging for a long time = incredibly happy me!
- Meeting Liz, a friend from Vermont, at Animal Kingdom for the day
- Mickey-shaped ice cream bars
- The look on Eeyore's face :-(
- Dinner at T-REX
- Meeting Cinderella (my favorite princess!)
- Wearing sunglasses
- The Downtown Disney LittleMissMatched store
- Squishing pennies
- The uber comfortable seats in the Hall of Presidents
- Looking for hidden mickeys
- Buying shot glasses for my sister to add to her collection
- Getting a little sunburned! (Or, being in a climate that allowed us to get a little sunburned!)
- Wearing our Minnie Ears
- Kristen meeting Snow White (best moment ever... she nearly cried she was so happy and I nearly cried because she was so happy!)
- An enormous cupcake in Hollywood Studios
- Parades and fireworks
- Rides: Dinosaur, Everest, Small World, Figment!, Soarin', Toy Story Mania
- A dinner is Mexico our last night there (and touring the world through beer!)
- Soaking my feet in the pool with K and talking the night before we left

Oh, and one more photo because I just love it. :-)

On Vacation! (Day 5)

This is probably my favorite photo Kristen made. Jason said he wants to be Roo (the drunk one)... Kristen said that Roo is obviously a metaphor for Jason. Obviously. :-)

We are heading home today. I will be back to normal blogging (if you can call the blogging I do 'regular') as soon as I recover from the trip.

On Vacation! (Day 4)

Hehe, I love this one and I love the look on my face and I love that it looks like Lumiere is pouring the beer. Seriously great!

On Vacation! (Day 3)

As awesome as this photo is, I don't exactly think Jason and Dane (mine and Kristen's hubby) are villains... they totally bite though, so watch out! :-D

On Vacation! (Day 2)

Another day of amazingness (yes, that is a word!) from Kristen. :-)

A little turbulence

I have done a good amount of flying in my life so far. I enjoy flying very much. I would actually love to be a flight attendant. That being said, yesterday while flying from MSP to MCO we experienced some of the worst turbulence ever!

First, the best part about this turbulence is that, since we were on our way to Orlando, there were a good number of kids on the flight. A few of them in the back of the plane, everytime we had a significant jump or jolt, the kids would squeal with joy and basically act like they were on a roller coaster. It was pretty much the best thing ever.

Also, I was reminded of this amazing quote from Dave Barry:

"Turbulence: This is what pilots announce that you have encountered when your plane strikes an object in midair. You'll be flying along, and there will be an enormous, shuddering WHUMP, and clearly the plane has rammed into an airborne object at least the size of a water buffalo, and the pilot will say, "Folks, we're encountering a little turbulence." Meanwhile they are up there in the cockpit trying desperately to clean water buffalo organs off the windshield."

Animal Kingdom is on the agenda today, then dinner in Downtown Disney. We are meeting up with our friend Liz, who works at Hollywood Studios. She is a friend from Vermont who Jason has known since 2nd grade. So exciting!

On Vacation! (Day 1)

Since I am on vacation right now in Disney World I thought I would post these great photos my bestest friend Kristen made and emailed to us all before our trip. There will be one for each day I am gone until Wednesday. :-D

This makes me happy...

Alright my blog reading peeps... today marks the day we leave Minnesota for Disney World! I've been checking the forecast for the time we are there and it looks pretty good! It doesn't look like it will rain and it will be pretty warm too!

So, just to make you jealous (sorry, I have to do it!) here is the forecast for my town in Minnesota:
And here is the forecast for Orlando, FL:

Also, for more jealousy visit my bestest friend's blog No Sincerer Love for a peek at the goodies we will get to enjoy while there. :-) (Diet will resume upon return... hey, it's vacation!)

Looking forward to some things...

I'm always looking forward to something. It helps on those days when I am just in a 'funk' and don't feel like getting up or really doing anything at all. I can look forward to those days that I KNOW will be wonderful and I can be happy knowing they are in the future.

Right now, I am looking forward to A LOT of things. I love that, and I love counting down the days until these things. Some are big events, and some are simple days, but they all make me excited for them to be here.
One way I keep track of the days until all of these things is the "Days Until" iPhone app. It's free (which is awesome) and allows me to assign a photo and text to each event and it lets me know how many days there are until that day is here!

Check out the images of all the things I am looking forward to today! (These screenshots were taken yesterday, so I am one day closer now! WOO!)

Don't worry about Jess seeing the baby shower one... she already knows when it is. :-)

Some of the photos I use I download from the Backgrounds App for iPhone (also free)... I just search things like "spring" or "baby" and I get cool images.
